This week me and my group have been trying to decide on the three important parts of our film opening, the characters in the film, who will play our characters and where we are going to film our film opening.
We have decided we are going to have 4 key characters which are; Lucy as the main character, Jay who is the boyfriend, Bridget who plays the mother of Lucy and finally Johnathan who is the father of Lucy.
We have chosen Jessica Codd to play the character of Lucy, this is because we all agree that Jessica has the right look that we are looking for as well as having experience in drama and performing.
For the character of Jay, the boyfriend, we have decided on Greg Reynolds. Not only does he have the perfect look we are looking for and a comical side to him but he has also agreed for us to use his kitchen which we think is the perfect location for the characters Bridget and Johnathan, the parents, to be when we film them preparing for the meeting of the new boyfriend as it is a fantastic size and has the right style.
For the character of Bridget, Lucy's mum, we have chosen Tracy Eglon who is Vicky Pritchard's mum. We decided on Tracy as she is a mum so she will know how to play a good mother, we also feel she will be able to play a quite, polite character, we also feel she will be able to play the more controlling side to the marriage with Johnathan.
The character of Johnathan, Lucy's dad, will be played by Matt Goodman. We all agree that he has the right look to play Lucy's dad and we also agree that he will be able to play an over protective dad very well as he has a family of his own.
For the location of Lucy and Jay's scene where they are walking to the parents house, we are going to use the village of Tealby, as it is a quite peaceful village with lovely scenery which we all agreed would be our perfect setting. Another reason we chose Tealby is because it challenges the stereotypical famous cities that are the usual settings for romantic comedies.
